Radamel Falcao To Real Madrid?
Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has assured that he will not be
contracting any new players in the winter market window, but did not
rule out the signing of Colombian goal-machine Radamel Falcao the
following summer. "I hear that Falcao would like to play for Real", he
said.
Florentino came out in
defence of the Real players that have recently been criticised, and
asked for a little more understanding from the fans. "We get offers
every year for Benzema because he's a great player. I am aware of how
demanding our fans are, but sometimes you have to ease back on the
whistling and boos to our players because it might prove detrimental to
us", he warned.
The president remarked that "Cristiano Ronaldo is the highest paid, followed by the captains Iker and Ramos, and then Bale."
Pérez also talked about the on-going Real goalie debate and how it was
affecting Casillas: "The one who has taken it best is Iker. Of course,
we all have friends, and some of them think they have the obligation to
stand up and speak in their name...he's training well and we are all
delighted. I have taken the posture that all professionals must take,
all people of Real Madrid, which is to work hard and nothing else", he
declared.
The president then went on to talk about Sergio
Ramos' contract renewal, whom he said was among the club's highest three
earners in the team: "I am very fond of Sergio Ramos. I made a great
effort to bring him here. We have no offers for him because they all
know that we won't sell him. We will deal with his renewal when the time
is right."
