North Is Ready For National Dialogue– Governor Aliyu
Ahead
of the proposed national dialogue, Governor Muazu Aliyu of Niger state
says the north is fully prepared to participate, and has nothing to fear
over the outcome of the dialogue, insisting that the region can do
without oil.
While acknowledging the need to discuss issues affecting the country, the governor who is also the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, noted that the north has enough agricultural deposits and several other mineral potential to sustain it.
Governor Aliyu, who spoke at a forum in Kaduna, expressed optimism that the proposed national dialogue will usher in a new constitution that will be acceptable to all.
On the rift between some PDP governors and the party’s leadership governor Aliyu said the new PDP governors have agreed to abide by the September 27 ceasefire agreement with President Goodluck Jonathan, but pointed out that there is a deliberate plot to divide the north ahead of the 2015 election.
