North Is Ready For National Dialogue– Governor Aliyu


Ahead of the proposed national dialogue, Governor Muazu Aliyu of Niger state says the north is fully prepared to participate, and has nothing to fear over the outcome of the dialogue, insisting that the region can do without oil.
      
While acknowledging the need to discuss issues affecting the country, the governor who is also the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, noted that the north has enough agricultural deposits and several other mineral potential to sustain it.

Governor Aliyu, who spoke at a forum in Kaduna, expressed optimism that the proposed national dialogue will usher in a new constitution that will be acceptable to all.

On the rift between some PDP governors and the party’s leadership governor Aliyu said the new PDP governors have agreed to abide by the September 27  ceasefire  agreement with President Goodluck Jonathan, but pointed out  that there is a deliberate plot to divide the north ahead of the 2015 election.

2015: Jonathan posters flood Kwara, say he is the best

Few months after controversies trailed the display of President Goodluck Jonathan 2015 campaign posters in some parts of the country, especially on the streets of Abuja, a group, “Foundation for Empowerment and Uniting Nigerian Youth” has flooded the streets of Ilorin, Kwara State capital with the President’s campaign posters, canvassing for his 2015 presidential election. It was observed that the campaign posters were spotted at strategic locations in Ilorin Central Muslim Praying Ground and some other locations in the state capital. Some of the posters were pasted on walls along the New Yidi Road and some other places in the metropolis. The posters bear the picture of Jonathan, the map of Nigeria and a young man. Mixed Reactions Trail New PDP, APC Merger

  Nigerian lawmakers have made diverse comments on the merger of the new Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) and the All Progressives Alliance (APC), a development expected to generated unexpected debates related to its consequences in the plenaries of the upper and lower chambers. The merger will be a source of worry for lawmakers, as they will have to consider the legal implications if they decide to move with the governors of the states they represent. The law may not have implications on the governor but on a lawmaker, the individual stands a possibility of losing his seat.
