Why The Lords Chosen held Sunday Service – Lagos Government
Lagos
State Government had yesterday explained why Sunday service and other
activities were been conducted at the headquarters of The Lord’s Chosen
and Charismatic Revival Church, in Ijesha, on Oshodi Apapa Expressway
despite its shutdown by the government. The state government said a
moratorium was granted the church for special programmes, and such
allows it to hold special services and activities until the end of the
grace period.
Recall that the headquarters of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival
Church was sealed by the Lagos state Ministry of environment over
environmental related issues. However, the church had swiftly denied
that it was sealed, since it continues to hold different activities.
In his reaction, the Lagos state Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Tunji Bello had explained further that a moratorium was granted the church following an application by the church authorities. He further disclosed that the moratorium expired yesterday.
He said the closure of the church was aimed at preventing possible outbreak of diseases and a warning to other churches that do not care about the environment of their churches as well as its effect on their members and other residents.
