  Nigerian lawmakers have made diverse comments on the merger of the new Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) and the All Progressives Alliance (APC), a development expected to generated unexpected debates related to its consequences in the plenaries of the upper and lower chambers. The merger will be a source of worry for lawmakers, as they will have to consider the legal implications if they decide to move with the governors of the states they represent. Mass exodus hits PDP as 63 members defect to APC in Borno

Barely two weeks after 32 leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, decamped to the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Borno State, DailyPost has again learnt that over thirty campaign officials of the PDP, under the Mohammed Goni, 2011 Governorship Campaign organisation have dumped the party. The 63 members of the ruling party who defected on separate days and in three groups, said they moved to the APC because of Governor Kashim Shettima’s persuasive style of governance; his good management of the Boko Haram crisis and his landmark achievements since he assumed office. 2015: Jonathan posters flood Kwara, say he is the best

Few months after controversies trailed the display of President Goodluck Jonathan 2015 campaign posters in some parts of the country, especially on the streets of Abuja, a group, “Foundation for Empowerment and Uniting Nigerian Youth” has flooded the streets of Ilorin, Kwara State capital with the President’s campaign posters, canvassing for his 2015 presidential election. It was observed that the campaign posters were spotted at strategic locations in Ilorin Central Muslim Praying Ground and some other locations in the state capital. Some of the posters were pasted on walls along the New Yidi Road and some other places in the metropolis. The posters bear the picture of Jonathan, the map of Nigeria and a young man. Inscriptions on the poster read, “Let the good work continue”; “In culture in architecture and for the future, you are the best;” “Support Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for continuity;” and “He has done it.
