Igbo presidency will not be realistic under PDP – APC spokesman
The South-East spokesman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr.
Osita Okechukwu, has called on Ndigbo to embrace the party, describing
it as the fastest vehicle for the actualization of president of Igbo
extraction in the nearest future.
Okechukwu, who stated this during a campaign rally held at Eke in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, stated that under the PDP, it would be practically impossible for Ndigbo to produce president or vice president in 2015.
He based his arguement on the ground that President Goodluck Jonathan is from the Southern part of the country and as such would not even chose a Vice from the South-East.
“Secondly, for 2019, it will be wishful thinking to believe that PDP will nominate an Igbo, because the rotation convention is predicated on North vs South.
“Therefore a careful analysis gazettes that APC presents Ndigbo the
fastest vehicle to become president or vice president in 2015 or 2019″,
he stated.
Mr Okechukwu advised Ndigbo to vote for Senator Chris Ngige as governor of Anambra State.
He said, “this paradigm shift in voting will strengthen Ndigbo’s position to bargain in APC.
“Yorubas are not idiots or unreasonable, they will concede for they had produced president for 8 years since the return of democracy in 1999.
“Their argument has been that Ndigbo voters are stuck in PDP. If we have two leading Igbo states – Imo and Anambra nobody can dispute our resolve to leave the tattered PDP umbrella”.
