Anambra guber fallout: Governor Obi behind election crisis – Arthur Eze
Elder
statesman and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Anambra
State, Chief Arthur Eze, yesterday flayed Governor Peter Obi over the
inconclusive governorship election in the state.
Eze, who is seen as the pillar behind the PDP candidate, Tony Nwoye, alleged that the problem with the election was the insistence of the governor to install “his treasurer,” Williams Obiano, as his successor.
Eze told State House correspondents shortly after meeting with the
nation’s Vice-President, Namadi Sambo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja
that, having ruled the state for eight years, Obi was bent at imposing
his candidate on the state for another eight years.
Asked whether he was in support of the call for total cancellation of the election, the PDP chief said, “Jega is very emotional, he is a very straightforward human being. He said this election was an act of sabotage. He was frank and God will advise him on what to do.”
On the way forward, Eze simply said, “Go and pray. What is going to happen in Anambra will happen in so many places. Pray for yourselves, not for us, we are gone, we are aged.
