BBA contestants Beverly Osu & Melvin Odua receive heroic welcome at Ikeja airport (photos)


Nigerian housemates at the just concluded Big brother Africa game, Beverly Osu and Melvin, arrived Nigeria last night and they received a heroic welcome. Friends, family and fans were at the airport to welcome them back home.
Security peeps were shielding Melvin from fans and family. Beverly burst into tears on seeing her mum and best friend.

IG of Police MD Abubakar set to remarry in September

According to a report by Sahara Reporters , Nigeria's Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar is getting ready to re-marry a year and a half after loosing his wife, Maryam Abubakar, to cancer. (Mrs Abubakar died in January 2012) IG Abubakar will be engaging in a three-day wedding ritual to 35 year old Safiya (pictured above with him). Their wedding proper will take place on Saturday September 14th. Sahara Reporters obtained a photo from a series of photos taken during a photo shoot in preparation for their grand wedding. IBB calls for devolution of powers

The former military President, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, on Monday called for the devolution of powers between the federal, state and local governments in the spirit of true federalism. Babangida made the call when the Chairman of Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Chief Elias Mbam, paid him a visit at his residence in Minna. The former president said that besides proper devolution of powers, there was need for a review of revenue sharing formula in favour of the states and the local government councils. He said that a greater percentage of revenue should go to the state and local governments because their closeness to the masses. The former military president also canvassed for diversification of the economy from the current mono-source – oil, to other revenue alternatives.
