Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu, has denied reports that he is no longer a member of the seven aggrieved governors within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Otherwise called G7 governors, the group also include; Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto), Sule Lamido (Jigawa), Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Abdulfatai Ahmed (Kwara), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), and Rabiu Kwankwanso (Kano). They had joined other PDP chieftains to form a splinter group now known as New PDP, after walking out of the Special National Congress held at the Eagles Square, Abuja The faction led by Abubakar Kawu Baraje has former vice president Atiku Abubakar and former governors of Kwara and Osun, Senator Bukola Saraki and Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Sam Jaja, among others as members.
